H&M Destroys And Trashes Unsold Clothing

The Swedish-based clothing retailer, H&M, destroys unsold coats, shoes, shirts and bags before throwing them away to insure no one will be able to wear them. There exist many New York charities that could put this clothing to use instead of taking up space in our landfills. Perhaps we could levy tax incentives to encourage corporations to decrease their production waste and support local efforts to clothe the homeless and less fortunate.
