Soon her work will be embedded into Google Maps. I explored similar materials and ideas in High Five, 2006-7 but never completed the work, so I am excited to see an artist making it real.

I hope we see more of these types of works as we continue to engage with our physical environment through digitized versions. My original interest in working with Google Maps was to subvert the satellite’s authority, by immediately removing the project once it was photographed, so that the real world would always be one step ahead of Google, our modern-day Skynet.
