Reminder

Reminder

I’m done installing Reminder, a painted outline of a tree covered with Post-it® note leaves, at the gracious Austin Museum of Art which puts the town in downtown at 803 Congress Avenue. The picture above depicts the work’s installation in my studio/bedroom. New photos from the museum’s installation are forthcoming. The 22 to Watch: New Art In Austin exhibition’s opening is this Friday, August 19 from 6-9 and costs $10. The first season of 1150 leaves came out well, split between 200 yellow orange and 950 yellow leaves. The show runs through October 30 and then moves to the Dallas Center for Contemporary Art. Please go see it and send me some feedback.

Terra Goolsby helped me so much with installing, refining the idea and making the leaves, so big thank you out to her. I could not have done this without you! I’ve added some in-progress shots to my flickr photos. I also owe a lot to the artists in the Open Doors Collective for being a big source of inspiration and support for me. If you haven’t seen what we’ve done as a group you got to check it out.
